On July 5th, 1981, I went through my first experience of euthanizing a pet. I had a mother and daughter German Shepherds. The mom (Camie) was 9 years old and the daughter (Bridget) was 7 1/2 years old.
It is bad enough to go through this for 1 family pet, but I had to go through it two times on the same day.
On June 23, 1998, I had to say goodbye to my female German shepherd (Cricket). She was 12 years old.
On May 21, 2016, my daughter had to put her male border collie mix (Tanner) down.
On September 19, 2016, my mini dachshund (Kobe), had to be put to sleep. Kobe would have been 13 on November 23, 2016.
This little dog was my buddy and my BFF. I know he is not suffering anymore, but he is missed beyond words.
On April 2, 2021, my daughter had to put her yellow lab (Tango) down.
This was the 6th time I have been involved in dealing with euthanizing a pet because of a serious health issue.
