Stroke recovery can take months or years to recover from. If someone has a sudden attack of weakness or numbness of the face or limbs on one side of the body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">2. If they suddenly become confused.\u00a0 They are unable to understand you or what you are saying.\u00a0Are they having trouble speaking or unable to talk?\u00a0 Is their speech garbled and unclear?\u00a0 Look to see if their mouth droops on one side.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">3. Their eyesight changes, resulting in blurred or double vision in the eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">4. They have a sense of balance loss, dizziness, or inability to walk.\u00a0If they are standing, are they standing upright?\u00a0If they are walking, are they hunching over and having a hard time walking?\u00a0If they are sitting, are they leaning to one side?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">5. They suddenly develop a severe headache for no apparent reason.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">There is a simple method or quick test to see if a person is suffering from a stroke.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Have the person do the following tasks to see how they react.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; Ask them to smile. Notice if they can smile.\u00a0Can they smile?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; Ask them to speak to you.\u00a0Can they talk?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; Ask them to raise their arms above their head.\u00a0Can they move both arms up?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; Ask them to stick out their tongue. Does the tongue droop or slant to one side rather than coming straight out of their mouth?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If the person has difficulty in performing any of these tasks, they probably have suffered a stroke and should seek immediate medical attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Stroke symptoms may be temporary, lasting for a few minutes or even hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Do not ignore any of these stroke symptoms, even if the stroke symptoms seem to disappear and the person appears to be fine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Seek out medical attention!
