Exercising for Parkinson’s Disease
In “normal brain”, some nerve cells produce dopamine, a chemical that transmits signals in the brain to produce smooth movement of muscles.
Parkinson’s disease is caused by the death of 80% or more of dopamine-producing cells, which causes nerve cells to fire wildly, leaving patients with little or no control over their movements. Symptoms usually appear in one or more of the following ways:
Tremor, or trembling in hands, arms, legs, jaw, face, rigidity and stiffness of limbs, and the slow movement of the trunk, slowness of movement, balance and coordination instability, impaired positive.
There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s disease, and we do not yet know why or how people can get the condition.
Parkinson’s disease does not cause people to die, but the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease worsen over time, which indirectly causes the deterioration in body functions. Some people blame the symptoms of old Parkinson’s disease, leading to delayed diagnosis.
There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s disease, and therefore, drugs are the main ways to reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, and some surgeries in extreme cases.
Drug therapy typically aims to increase the level of dopamine that reaches the brain, and stimulate parts of the brain where dopamine works and/or block the enzymes that destroy dopamine.
That to happen, and some medications must be able to cross the blood-brain barrier. There are many drugs, even prescribed for Parkinson’s disease, that can become overwhelming.
All drug treatments for Parkinson’s have their advantages and disadvantages, but research is ongoing to improve the options of all time.

We will experience some symptoms and some do not, so your doctor, nurse, or specialist in Parkinson’s seeks to find a treatment that works best for you and specific symptoms. And we will review your medications with time to ensure you get the best combination for you, that your progress.
People with Parkinson’s disease, who practice daily, show much better motor skills than those who do not. Research indicates that this practice contributes to the positive neuronal plasticity (changes in the brain), which helps the brain to restore lost connections, make new friends and keep old ones. This, in turn, has been shown to reduce neurological degeneration.
Check with your doctor before participating in any exercise program for advice and recommendations on the types of exercises that are best for you. Learn about things like the intensity and duration. These factors depend on the symptoms and severity of symptoms.
Your doctor may refer you to a physiotherapist or you can join the local gym. In either case, make sure you get advice as much as possible, and remember to start slowly.
Any type of exercise is good for patients with Parkinson’s disease? The answer to this question is specific to the person. Of course, several types of exercises were presented to benefit more than others, but the hardware, because the frequency and this is very important with Parkinson’s disease, to find something you enjoy is the key.
For example, there is a great advantage in the treatment of boxing, which is very useful, if you like yoga. Find what you want to do, your symptoms will allow you to do something, and you can do it, if it is not a duty to go to.
Consult closely with the physios, your doctor or specialist when you create an exercise program. General recommendations on the introduction of the following:
groupSpend target of at least 15 minutes of exercise each day, do not forget to include a comprehensive program designed to stretch all joints and muscles, a few minutes warming up and cooling down.
This could include walking instead of stretching. Start with the easiest exercises first.
Introduce exercises slowly, more difficult than increases.
Try your ability to perform each movement to the best of your ability. Stop the private sector and the rest of the box if you feel tired at any time during your exercise program, and stop doing any exercise that causes pain, and stop doing any exercise that makes you pain.
