Headaches, especially when they occur frequently, can be extremely painful and will undoubtedly affect your everyday life.

If your headaches persist, you should consult a doctor who will give you proper headache medication.

Headache is a term used to describe aching or pain that occurs in one or more areas of the head, face, mouth, or neck.

Headache involves the network of nerve fibers in the tissues, muscles, and blood vessels located in the head and at the base of the skull.

Daily persistent headaches also known as chronic daily headaches will usually occur for at least fifteen days in a given month and may even strike on a daily basis.

While most people will experience a headache on occasion, those with chronic persistent headaches suffer debilitating headaches on a regular basis.

The pain of such frequent headaches can have a strong negative impact on work, home life and general daily functioning.

Chronic daily headaches are usually classified as primary or secondary.

Primary ones are those that develop over time, often slowly and become more frequent and intense. They often develop in people who have suffered from other headache types, such as migraine.

Most people who have ever experienced a bad headache are subsequently aware of how miserable the pain can be.

Even if the discomfort lasts for only a few minutes, sufferers will want to be able to develop a plan of action for ridding themselves of the pain.

By becoming aware of the various types of headaches, individuals should be able to quickly determine the proper course of action.

Some pain arises simply through the process of contracting the common cold or flu.

Headaches – that pain in your head that just won’t go away!

This may be caused by many different reasons: tension, stress, hormonal changes, neck or back strain, dehydration, or a problem with your eyes and/or vision.

The five most common headaches stem from optical issues.

– Vision problems: are probably the number one cause of all headaches. When one cannot see, you will strain your eyes, squint, and so on, causing headaches and discomfort all-round.

– The sun: Extended exposure to the sun while leaving your eyes unprotected can lead to very intense headaches – especially coupled with dehydration from too little water drinking.

If you have ever fallen victim to a headache or migraine, the terrible feeling it evokes may be still may be fresh in your mind.

It is a pain that you hope never strikes again but once you have fallen prey to it, headaches and migraines have a strange knack of reoccurring.

Several factors such as heredity, stress, lack of sleep, exposure to sunlight, and climatic changes can lead to headaches and migraines and these can range from mild to severe pains.

Our inability to take action when the first signs exhibit themselves is often the reason why the problem gravitates to a higher level.

A tension-type headache is usually mild to moderate, band-like pain that affects the whole head.

The cause of tension-type headaches is not well understood but may be related to a lower than normal threshold for pain. Stress may be involved.

However, its role is not clearly understood, and it is not the only explanation for the symptoms.

Symptoms and diagnosis

The pain is usually mild to moderate, although it may be severe. It feels like the tightening of a band around the head, making the whole head ache.
