A good diet during treatment can help minimize side effects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Follow a low-fat, plant-based diet and encourage daily physical activity to increase energy, improve moods, boost self-esteem, and stimulate the immune system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">After each treatment, get all of the necessary information for your child&#8217;s continued care.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Be aware that as a result of cancer and\/or its treatment, your child may have difficulties in school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Meet with school administrators and teachers to discuss your child&#8217;s needs and health issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Talk to the teachers about educational late effects and watch for learning problems.
