My Background<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to getting into the computer field, I was involved in the medical field.<\/span><\/p>\n

For almost 6 years, I was in the field of Respiratory Therapy.<\/span><\/p>\n

After successfully completing an intensive training program, I became a Registered Respiratory Therapist (written and oral exams).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the training included:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 setting up the operating room<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 observing and assisting in various surgical procedures<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 autopsies (working in the morgue)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 CPR certification, teaching CPR to other hospital staff<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 emergency medical treatment<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 drawing arterial blood<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 neo-natal<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 working with children and adults, both in-patient and outpatient, for various illnesses and diseases.<\/span><\/p>\n

My computer experience includes:<\/span><\/p>\n

15 years working for companies that used large IBM mainframe computers<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Computer operations<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Applications programming<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Systems programming\/technical support – installing and maintaining all software.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have worked with PC’s for almost 20 years as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do I have an interest in Cancer?<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Relatives died of breast cancer<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Grade school classmates died from brain cancer<\/span><\/p>\n

A dear friend died of liver cancer that had metastasized<\/span><\/p>\n

A dear friend died of bladder cancer that had metastasized<\/span><\/p>\n

My father passed away from pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to the liver<\/span><\/p>\n

I have had squamous cell skin cancer that was rather involved<\/span><\/p>\n
