font-size: 14pt;\">Many scientists agree with the theory that Alzheimer&#8217;s disease starts to kick in because the body starts to overproduce a certain protein commonly known as beta-amyloid protein.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The excessive production of this particular protein results in the brain cells being attacked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Effects of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease become more common in people once they have reached the age of seventy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It can in some cases affect people who are in their fifties, but the odds are that if a person is over seventy, the chances of contracting the disease are increased heavily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It is thought that at least half of the people who are into their eighties suffer from some form of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">One of the major reasons that Alzheimer&#8217;s is on the increase in the western world is that people are living longer, so the older the population is, the more people will suffer from the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Just because you are getting older, it doesn&#8217;t mean that you will succumb to the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">There are lots of people who have reached a high number of years, and have never had a problem with Alzheimer&#8217;s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It is also thought that another effect of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease is that particular types of genes are more prone to getting Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">That means if someone has suffered from the disease, then the odds of their offspring developing that disease will be much higher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Several other reasons may start the onset of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Things like hypertension, diabetes, higher levels of cholesterol, heart disease, and constant stress, can all contribute to Alzheimer&#8217;s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">On the other hand, some people have suffered from the conditions above and gone on to live lives completely free of the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The truth of the matter is that we cannot identify the exact causes of Alzheimer&#8217;s, and at the moment it is mostly guesswork based on the research done so far.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The main problem is that the number of people who suffer from Alzheimer&#8217;s is growing and we don&#8217;t know why.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The consequences of the disease can be extremely severe, not only on the people who suffer from it, but on the people who have to care for, and watch the sufferers going through the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;
